HONOLULU -

A man in his 20s was hospitalized in critical condition after he was hit by a trolley in Kaka'ako Thursday night, according to Emergency Medical Services officials.

It happened at the intersection of Ala Moana Boulevard and Kamakee Street just before 11 p.m.

Police say an E Noa trolley traveling west on Ala Moana Boulevard had the green light when the man ran across the roadway and got hit.

"The male initially was lifeless at the scene and was taken to the Queen's Medical Center where they were able to do CPR and revive him," said Lt. Bobby Towne of the Honolulu Police Department's Traffic Division.

The man is believed to be in his 20s. The driver of the trolley was not transporting any passengers at the time of the crash.

Police say they are not looking at speed or alcohol as factors in the collision.

Ala Moana Boulevard was closed in the westbound direction for nearly three hours as police investigated before it reopened.
