Police arrest suspect believed to have shot, killed a man in Kahalu'u Sunday afternoon

KAHALU'U, Hawaii -

Police have arrested the suspect believed to have shot and killed a man in Kahalu'u Sunday.

Investigators say the 65-year-old man was shot in the head with a rifle at around noon.

Honolulu police had as many as 10 units out searching the Kahaluu area for the suspect.

Police taped off a scene just off Waihee Road across from the Kahaluu Elementary School while they conducted their investigation.

The search spanned from Wong's Village to Ahaolelo Road.  The suspect was captured at around 6 p.m.

Earlier, paramedics were on scene as well and say the man who was shot was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later died.

Police say the suspect and the victim knew each other.  The suspect was also believed to have threatened another man and stole a wallet.
