Discovered amongst other household items being sold in a garage sale was a baseball bat believed to be something very special.

The bat is believed to be the practice bat of baseball legend Jackie Robinson, on sale for a dollar.

A local garage saler, Bruce Scapecchi, identified the bat by the unique grip and informed the family of what exactly they might be trying to sell.

Scapecchi suggested running a lead pencil over a nearly indistinguishable brand in an attempt to verify if the bat was authentic, after which they held the bat in the light and the name Robinson was made barely legible.

Sue McEntee, owner of the bat, said she had no idea the bat was Robinson's.

She's had it for years and her kids have even grown up playing ball with it in their back yard.

It is not a total surprise however, that McEntee has founder herself owning a bat of Robinson's. Her uncle was Robinson's former teammate on the Brooklyn Dodgers.

According to McEntee the bat is no longer for sale.
