The call for a missing 56-year-old diver came in around 2:44 p.m. Saturday at Kaena Point.  Officials say Nicholas Spotkaeff was diving with his son when they got separated.  The Coast Guard says the son lost sight of his father when he was on shore and about 100 yards north of Kaena Point.

Spotkaeff was reported to be wearing green board shorts.

Some of the diver's gear were recovered, such as a floater and a three-pronged spear.  The diver and the gear were last spotted about 100 yards off-shore.

Anyone with any information is asked to call 911 or Crimestoppers at 955-8300.
