WAHIAWA, Hawaii -

Residents living near Schofield Barracks should expect loud sounds from the army base.

On Thursday, soldiers will be involved in training exercises consisting of artillery fire from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The effects of training will vary depending on weather, as overcast conditions may increase noise and vibrations. Smoke may be visible for a short time, but there is no immediate danger.

Training is subject to change and dependent on required environmental conditions, such as wind speed and moisture level.
