A hammerhead shark swimming close to the Kailua shoreline was caught on video.

KAILUA, Hawaii -

Beachgoers weren't the only ones playing in the waves this past weekend.

A 6-foot-long hammerhead shark was spotted in the shore break at Kailua Beach.

This area of the beach is known as "Flagpoles."

Jack Mullen shot this video on Saturday around 3:30 p.m. He says the shark swam in to shore twice on that day.

"It was thrashing around and then it left, so I went and jumped back in the water," said Mullen. "Then we hear more screaming down the beach. So then, I ran down and got the video."

Mullen shot this video with his GoPro. He says earlier in the day, surfers spotted a much larger shark near this area.
