An autopsy led to an unexpected finding in a deadly shooting in Volusia County on Monday.

Investigators found that a shooting victim was misidentified as his twin brothers.

Deputies said Jeriell Lesane, 29, was shot and killed outside Papi’s Bottle Club on Nova Road over the weekend.

Deputies heard the fight and as they responded they heard one shot and then additional shots north of the club.

As the crowd fled the scene, deputies found the critically injured man in the street.  Authorities found more blood half a block north of the club, at Nova Road and 8th Street.

Lesane was initially thought to be his twin brother, Terrell.

The sheriff's office worked a similar shooting incident outside of Papi's on March 3. In that case, 25-year-old Eric L. Walker III was charged with aggravated battery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and other charges.

Investigators want to question a man described as a thin and black, with dreadlocks.

No arrests have been made in the case.
