Surfer who died in Haleiwa identified by medical examiner
The Honolulu medical examiner has released the name of the man who was pronounced dead at the Haleiwa Boat Harbor late Sunday.
The man was identified as 45-year-old Jonathan Collins of Waialua.
Paramedics were called to the boat harbor at around 10:45 p.m. where he was pronounced dead.
Emergency Medical Services officials say he was reported missing while he went surfing in the area.
The medical examiner did not yet release a cause of death.
