HONOLULU -

A suspect has been indicted in the 'Iolani Palace break-in.

State officials say 21-year-old Drew Paahau faces charges of Criminal Property Damage in the First degree and Burglary in the Second degree.

Honolulu police say Paahau broke the front glass door at 'Iolani Palace on Feb. 8. She was one of two people caught on surveillance video from the vandalism.

“We intend to prosecute this case to the fullest extent of the law for the irreparable damage caused to the historic and priceless original glass pane on the front door of the Iolani Palace. Iolani Palace served as a home to the Hawaiian monarchy and stands today as a National treasure which needs to be preserved and protected,” said Attorney General David M. Louie.

If found guilty she could face up to 15 years in prison and $35,000 fine between the two charges.

Her bail is set at $25,000.

Palace officials say the broken window was 130 years old and was original glasswork for the building.
