Police are investigating after an SUV drove into the Bank of Hawaii branch at Koko Marina Center Monday morning.
It happened at around 9:15 a.m. A black Mercedes-Benz jumped the curb and shattered the wall of windows, which sent glass flying and left those inside the bank rattled.
Roy Hosaka was there with his wife when he saw the female driver pull in to the parking lot.
"I know she wasn't going to stop. I could tell. I jumped out of my chair," said Hosaka. "The poor lady that was the bank officer doing the escrow -- she was blindsided."
"My wife called em to say the car had come through the window and hit her desk. I was upset," said Hawaii Kai resident Tony Ganier. "That's exactly what happened. She luckily escaped injury, although her desk was demolished."
The bank employee and the Hosakas received minor injuries, such as cuts from the flying glass.
Last August, a car drove into the post office on Hawaii Kai Drive. In July 2012, another car crashed into the Hawaii Kai Longs Drugs.
