Man robs credit union in Pepe'ekeo

PEPE'EKEO, Hawaii -

Police on the Big Island are investigating a robbery at a credit union in Pepe'ekeo Thursday afternoon.

Police said a man pointed what appeared to be a handgun at two tellers at the Hamakua Coast Community Federal Credit Union around 1 p.m.

He demanded cash and ran off with an undisclosed amount of money.

No one was hurt.

Police said the suspect was carrying a black backpack and wearing camouflage pants with a fluorescent green cloth covering his face.
