Tripler Medical Center settles a malpractice lawsuit
Tripler Army Medical Center has tentatively reached a $9 million settlement with a family who filed a malpractice lawsuit. That is according to attorneys for the family who now lives in Virginia.
The family claims their son Noah Whitney was born at Tripler in 2010 with catastrophic brain injury.
The lawsuit accused hospital officials of failing to respond appropriately to symptoms of uterine rupture and taking too long to perform a cesarean section that may have caused Noah's cerebral palsy.
The settlement is still subject to final approval by the U.S. Department of Justice.
