An unusual intruder got stuck inside a truck Wednesday evening in Truckee.

A baby bear somehow entered the unlocked vehicle, in the 11500 block of Saint Bernard Drive, and the door shut behind the animal, the Truckee Police Department said in a news release.

Officers arrived quickly and let the frightened bear out of the truck.

The animal left significant damage to the interior of the vehicle.

Police encourage residents to lock their cars, and advise people against keeping food inside their vehicles -- which is known to attract hungry bears in the area.
