Big Island fire officials and police are investigating two bodies that were found in a Hilo home following an early morning fire Thursday.
The fire was reported just after 1 a.m. on Wainaku Street in Hilo.
According to fire officials, the single-story home was completely engulfed in flames with part of the roof already collapsed when they arrived. The fire was under control within 10 minutes of firefighters enganging the blaze.
After the fire was fully extinguished roughly an hour after it was reported, the police department requested a search of the home based on occupancy records when firefighters found the two deceased victims.
Information about the victims is not yet available.
No other serious injuries were reported.
The fire caused an estimated $150,000 to the home.
