USS Hopper pulls into port; reunites military families

Hundreds of families reunited today when the USS Hopper pulled into port at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.

HONOLULU -

Hundreds of families reunited Tuesday when the USS Hopper pulled into port at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.

The guided missile destroyer and its crews of 280 sailors are back home after being deployed for eight months.

"[We] had a great deployment. The crew did a fantastic job. We're proud to be home. Like I said, It's been eight months, so we're really excited to be back here at Pearl Harbor," said Commander Dave Snee.

While away, the crew aboard the USS Hopper provided security and conducted anti-piracy operations with partner nations.

A highlight after upon the ship's arrival was a Pearl Harbor proposal and of course she said yes.
