Big Island police have identified the two victims killed in an early morning house fire in Hilo Thursday.

That fire was reported at 1:08 a.m. Thursday August 15 on Wainaku Street in Hilo.
According to fire officials, the single-story home was completely engulfed in flames with part of the roof already collapsed when they arrived. The fire was under control within 10 minutes of firefighters enganging the blaze.
After the fire was fully extinguished roughly an hour after it was reported, the police department requested a search of the home based on occupancy records when firefighters found the two deceased victims.
No other serious injuries were reported.
The fire caused an estimated $150,000 to the home.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
