Waipahu road reopened after water main fixed

WAIPAHU, Hawaii -

Honolulu police say there was a road closure in Waipahu on Wednesday due to a 12-inch water main break.

Police say Leokane Street was closed betweeen Leoleo Street and Leoole Street.

The break was reported to the Board of Water Supply at around 10 a.m.  Seven customers, all industrial businesses, were without service.  A water wagon was positioned at 94-084 Leokane Street.

The road was reopened by 5 a.m. Thursday.  Water service was restored by 9 p.m. Wednesday.

The main was originally installed in 1966.
