Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, is a lethal neurodegenerative disorder.  It is also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

In the Ice Bucket Challenge, you need to dump ice water on your head and post the video on social media and call out a few more people to do it.  People can accept the challenge or make a donation to an ALS charity of their choice.

Celebrities from Oprah, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Jon Bon Jovi, Jennifer Lopez and others have accepted the challenge.

"Wet 'n' Wild Hawaii proudly supports the community we serve and hopes to assist as many organizations that our resources will allow," says Wet 'n' Wild Hawaii Marketing Director Eddie Galdones. "Accepting this challenge toward a worthy cause is our way of bringing awareness and hopefully a cure to ALS."

As of Wednesday, Aug. 20, The ALS Association has received $31.5 million in donations compared to $1.9 million during the same time period last year.  These donations have come from existing donors and 637,527 new donors.

Galdones would like to span the challenge across the nation and calls upon the following companies to accept the challenge:
• Sea Life Park, Hawaii
• Wet'n'Wild Palm Springs, California
• Wet'n'Wild Splashtown, Texas
• Ocean Breeze Water Park, New Jersey
