Whimsical ikebana exhibit at Neiman Marcus Ala Moana

More than 40 members of the local Sogetsu Ikebana School under the direction of seifu Linda Hamasaki are displaying their whimsical interactions with Neiman Marcus merchandise.

The students were not restricted to organic materials. Flowers in one arrangement were supported by the store's black clothes hangers.
Sogetsu is one of the more modern philosophies of ikebana, with license to express emotions using available resources.

One of the central ideas is to have each arrangement contain three strong elements at certain angles and proportion.

The display will be up until midweek at Neiman Marcus Ala Moana.
