Witness: Waikele car fire stemmed from police chase

A 25-year-old man was hospitalized in serious condition after a car fire in Waikele early Sunday morning, according to Emergency Medical Services officials.
A witness at the scene said the car caught on fire after a crash that stemmed from a police chase.
It happened near the intersection of Lumiauau Street and Hopoe Place just before 12:30 a.m.
Police say the Honda Civic was stolen. The driver, Kristopher Kresge, has been charged in the incident.
Kresge was seen driving recklessly before hitting a light pole. He is being held on $20,000 bail.
