Pedestrian killed in traffic incident on Farrington Highway

A 59-year-old man was killed when he was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street on Farrington Highway.

HONOLULU -

A 59-year-old man is dead following a motor vehicle accident on Farrington Highway.

Honolulu police say at around 9 o'clock Friday night a 24-year-old woman driving a black Kia was heading toward Waianae on Farrington Highway when she hit the victim.

The victim was crossing the highway with a coworker.  Both worked for a cleaning company and were heading to the Aulani Hotel.

Police say speed and alcohol were not factors in the incident, but visibility was.  An investigation is underway into the cause of the incident.
