Carol Fukunaga, the newest member of the Honolulu City Council, was sworn in Tuesday.
Fukunaga won a special election to replace Tulsi Gabbard who resigned to run for Congress.
Fukunaga says she's ready to roll up her sleeves and tackle the issues.
Fukunaga beat out a slew of candidates including former state Republican party chair Sam Aiona as well as former Honolulu city councilman Jon Yoshimura.
