Warrior defensive lineman feels at home at Pearl Harbor
The University of Hawaii football team held its 14th practice of fall camp and the fifth day at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam on Thursday. They will be there for two more days.
Coincidentally, the naval base had been home to one of the Warriors once before. 27-year-old sophomore defensive lineman Dale Haretuku.
He's a product of Tafuna High School in American Samoa and an 8-year Air Force veteran.
"I worked two years here for the Hawaii Air National Guard and also served some time in Korea, Texas and South Carolina," said Haretuku. "It's comfortable because I'm so used to this kind of environment and how everything is and I tell people how to get around the base. It's a little more relaxing than back at campus."
The Warriors resume practice on Friday at 8:55 a.m. and 4:50 p.m.
