Kahuku High School to replace football coach
Reggie Torres is out as the head football coach for Kahuku High School.
Torres has been in the top spot since 2006 and has led the Red Raiders to three football state championships.
Kahuku principal Pauline Masaniai told KITV4 she could not confirm whether Torres was released and if a new coach was hired.
In letters mailed-out back in January, Masaniai informed head coaches of all sports at Kahuku that they were all out, but could re-apply. The man set to replace Torres is Lee Leslie.
Leslie informed his current program, Kuna High School in Idaho, that he has accepted the position on Oahu's North Shore. Leslie's coaching career started as a Graduate Assistant at Utah under Ron McBride, then moved into arena football before successful stints at a couple Idaho high schools.
Change is coming in Kahuku, but no official announcement has been made by the Red Raiders.
The Reggie Torres era, seemingly over, has the coach exiting with a 75-14 record over eight seasons with three state tournament titles.
